Make Your Dream School A Reality
Where Our Graduates Have Attended

Making it Happen

Chicago Parent: E.R.A. Program Opening Doors
KIM KOVELLE – A group of students huddles around their project: a motor, popsicle sticks, and rubber bands. Their goal? Build a car. But there are no step-by-step instructions. No safety net.
“They need to figure it out,” explains their instructor, John Lui. “Some kids get this mind block: ‘If I fail, it’s terrible.’ But in STEM, you need to fail. It’s how they develop critical thinking skills.”

Taking Flight: Braunschweig Completes First Solo Flight
On March 2, St. John’s Northwestern student William Braunschweig completed his first solo flight from Watertown Municipal Airport.
Braunschweig, a 1st Lieutenant in Battalion S-2, took to the skies as part of the Academy’s Engineering, Robotics & Aviation program, which allows SJN students to earn their private pilot’s license while attending the school.

ARCOA Sets SJNA Students Up for Success
St. John’s Northwestern was the beneficiary of an amazing donation of technology and other items from the ARCOA Group.
Located in Waukegan, Illinois, ARCOA Group is an enthusiastic supporter of SJN. This dedication was demonstrated as they delivered over $50,000 worth of Interactive Smart Boards and other IT devices.

Meet the Staff: Melissa Steffens - Drone Instructor
St. John’s Northwestern drone instructor recently passed her FAA Part 107 Exam and is a Certified Commercial Drone Pilot.
With this certification, SJNA students now have access to take the exam as well as opening future career options and many doors for our drone students.
