Virtual Learning

Beginning over the summer of 2024, St. John's Northwestern Academies now offers courses in a online format. This allows our students on campus to complete a portion of their courses virtually, but also expands SJNA across the globe, giving anyone anywhere the ability to access the elite academics of the Academy.

Diploma Partners

St. John’s Northwestern Academies continues to grow and expand our global profile. Part of this growth is the opportunity to offer diploma partnerships with schools around the world. These diploma partners are schools which are able to offer their students the opportunity to earn an SJNA diploma without the need to leave their home country.

Is Virtual Learning the Right Fit?

Our online curriculum may be the best choice for students pursuing ventures which require flexible schedules. Taking classes virtually allows students to take on internships, chase their dreams, and travel the world. Our instructors recognize that success is not constrained by classroom walls. Our curriculum prepares students to compete in the 21st century economy, which increasingly takes place in remote and hybrid workplaces. No matter where your path takes you, you can stay on track with your academic goals and receive world class instruction along the way.

SJNA Global provides course options which far exceed those at most schools. We are not bound by enrollment minimums or classroom space in a physical building. Are you interested in taking a specialized curriculum that your district does not offer? Let’s talk. If you can imagine it, we can design a course of studies that fits your interests and talents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Virtual Learning

SJNA Global Academy offers courses in three different ways. Through our partnership with Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS), we have an extensive number of courses that are purely online and taken at the student’s own pace. Dr. Lurz, the Director of SJNA-Global, monitors student progress and serves as a coach for students taking these courses. We also have courses taught on SJNA’s Google Suite platform by SJNA instructors. Students log onto Google Classroom to complete these courses, just like they do with their in-person courses in Delafield. Finally, we offer credit recovery courses through our partners at WVS. Dr. Lurz monitors student progress and serves as a coach for these courses. When students finish their course, they receive credit with an SJNA course prefix and grades are entered on their SJNA transcript. If students taking a credit recovery course improve their existing grade, the earned credit will replace the existing credit on the SJNA transcript.

SJNA and partner school students will pay a rate of $495/semester for regular courses and $395/semester for credit recovery courses.

Students who are NOT enrolled as SJNA day or boarding students, and also not associated with partner schools, will pay the full list price of $595/semester for regular courses and $495/semester for credit recovery courses.

The pandemic was a difficult time for millions of students across the country. Schools had to shift to online learning without having the infrastructure to offer online learning effectively. Many students were completely lost in that environment.

SJNA’s online offerings are different. We are prepared for this platform and have coaches available to help students succeed. We have developed training modules to help students develop strategies for online learning. Face-to-face interactions and meetings are available for students who need additional help.

School Districts in 2020 had to rapidly make things up on the fly. We have the resources and favorable student/teacher ratios to provide individualized instruction even in a remote setting.

The catalog for courses available via our online partners at WVS can be found here. If you are interested in taking a course with SJNA instructors, please email Dr. Lurz and he will discuss the availability of courses.

Absolutely! Our in-person students frequently take advantage of our online offerings. With SJNA-Global, students who want to take advanced or specialized courses that we cannot offer in-person can fit them into their schedule. Students who wish to pursue advanced electives can make space in their schedule by taking other courses required for graduation online.

These courses are much more valuable to students than standard study hall periods. Sit down with any of our counselors to discuss all of the options available to you and develop a plan of studies for your time at SJNA!

As a reputable provider of outstanding education, remote and hybrid delivery is just one part of who we are and what we do. SJNA is well-known and highly regarded by colleges and businesses across the country. Our degrees carry weight. Our graduates join the “Long Gray Line” of alumni stretching back to 1884.

When students take classes at SJNA Global Academy, they gain access to the SJNA community and alumni network. Becoming a part of this special community is a point of difference with other online providers. They do not have the reputation, rich history, or powerful community that we have.
Whether in-person or remote, students at SJNA never walk alone.
