SJNA Announces Pro Player Ian Bennett as Head Soccer Coach
DELAFIELD, Wis. – On Wednesday (July 2), St. John’s Northwestern Academies announced Ian Bennett as the new head coach of the boys’ soccer team.
Bennett will take charge of the consistently strong Lancers, who are coming off yet another regional title and Midwest Classic Conference (MCC) crown. It marked their third consecutive MCC title and back-to-back regional championships.
“I’m beyond excited and truly blessed to take on the role of head boys’ soccer coach at SJNA,” said Bennett. “We’re raising the bar, and I’m here to set the standard both in the classroom and on the field. The faculty has been amazing, and with my incredible support staff and Flite by my side, we’re launching a next-level program from day one. Our boys will have everything they need to succeed—premium kits, top-notch equipment, a state-of-the-art field, and an electric fan base. Let’s go Lancers!”
Bennett founded the ib26 Futbol Academy, which focuses on developing soccer techniques and tactics. He currently plays professionally for the Milwaukee Wave of the Major Arena Soccer League, where he has won two championships, earned two league MVP awards, and scored over 450 goals during his 14-year tenure with the Wave. He has also racked up 492 goals over 307 appearances for the club.
“SJNA is very excited to welcome Ian to his new role,” stated SJNA Executive Vice President & Chief of Staff Mike Fink. “He brings a wealth of experience at the highest levels, and we look forward to the continued success he will bring to the Lancer soccer program.”
Bennett has also played for numerous professional and semi-professional organizations, including the Milwaukee Torrent, the Charleston Battery of the USL 1, and internationally for his home country of Canada on the beach and futsal squads.
