The Golden State Warriors first-round draft pick and SJNA alum showcased some trademark talents in preparation for the 2023-24 regular season.

DELAFIELD, Wis. – Brandin Podziemski made his debut for the Golden State Warriors over the month of July, as the NBA hosted a series of preseason tournaments and games. The 2021 graduate of St. John’s Northwestern Academies showed why he was selected 19th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft with a number of strong performances.

As the only first-round NBA Draft pick in school history, Podziemski made history just touching the court, but he didn’t stop there, as he continued posting a number of strong individual performances throughout the opening weeks of July.

In his debut at the California Classic, Podziemski impressed and went off for 17 points versus the Charlotte Hornets. Branding also tallied five steals, four rebounds and this highlight worthy sequence.

At the NBA 2K 24 Summer League, Podziemski stuffed the stat sheet and nearly recorded a triple-double in 33 minutes of work in a tight loss to the Pelicans. The former Lancer notched 10 points, 10 assists and just came up just marginally short of the trifecta with nine rebounds. In seven total games across the month of July, Podziemski averaged 10.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.

With the preseason now in the rearview mirror, Podz fans will have to wait till late October to see him in regular season action. The 2023-24 NBA Schedule is expected to be released in mid-August with a tentative first day slated for October 24.
