Lancers Wesley Chapman Breaks Two Basketball School Records
DELAFIELD, Wis. – Wesley Chapman has made St. John’s Northwestern basketball history, breaking two long-standing school records during the Lancers’ victory over Kenosha Christian Life School on February 17.
Chapman, a senior, scored an incredible 51 points, surpassing the previous single-game record of 50 points set by current Golden State Warrior star Brandin Podziemski during the 2020-2021 season. He also set a new record for most two-point field goals in a game (18), breaking the previous mark of 17 set by Eddie Lee in the 1975-1976 season.
“I am extremely proud of Wesley for achieving this,” head coach Daylan Haynie said. “He has been a dedicated and hardworking player since day one. Wesley has the natural ability to score the basketball, and he can do it at three levels. Most impressive is that most of Wesley’s points came from attacking the basket. To see him break the school record is a testament to his hard work and dedication and also to the support of his teammates.”
Chapman’s performance leads the Lancers into the playoffs next week. Their first-round matchup is set for Tuesday, March 4, when they will take on Milwaukee Juneau from the road.
