How is the Leadership Academy different from the Military Academy?
High-level differences start with curriculum. The Leadership Academy does not include JROTC classes. Instead, we have developed a proprietary curriculum that teaches leadership from the inside out, with an emphasis on being prepared for the global workplace. Leadership Academy students also wear a private-school-style uniform and live in residence halls for that Academy.
Is the Leadership Academy less challenging than the Military Academy?
Absolutely not! Our curriculum challenges every student through experiential learning to achieve their full potential.
Do Leadership students interact with Military cadets?
Yes, every day. Leadership Academy students and Military Academy cadets use the same facilities, share classes and participate together in athletics and activities.
Is this a safe environment?
Yes. St. John’s Northwestern has zero tolerance for bullying, drugs and alcohol. We’re dedicated to making every student feel welcome and secure, and provide the necessary structure and supervision. As in any family, students learn to resolve differences. And they develop the bond of going through this experience together, helping each other succeed.
Is a St. John’s Northwestern education affordable?
You may be surprised at what’s possible. Our enrollment staff helps you explore financial aid options, including merit-based and need-based assistance as well as loans from preferred vendors. Talk with us!
