Maximo Patron Cevallos named First Captain at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy

DELAFIELD, Wis., June 3, 2022 – Cadet Maximo Patron Cevallos, the son of Hector Patron and Emilia Cevallos, was appointed to the position of First Captain of the 139th Corps of Cadets at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy (SJNMA) in Delafield, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 28. This will be 1CPT Patron’s fifth year at SJNMA, and he will be responsible for peer leadership, training, and overall proficiency of the Corps of Cadets. Ever since Patron’s first day on campus, at the age of thirteen, he set a goal for himself to become the First Captain of the 139th Corps of Cadets!

The Academy’s leadership team selected Cadet Patron based on his demonstrated discipline, ability to lead, and passion for integrity. Patron has accumulated many achievements including: Dean’s List with Honors, Deputy Color Sergeant, Drill Team, Color Guard Commander, Semester Gold Star, JROTC Top 10%, Laub Penmanship Award, VP of National Honor Society, Lifeguard+CPR-AED Red Cross certified, Bagpipes, Marksmanship Award, Student Pilot, and Best in Class in English, Algebra 1, and Honors Biology. Patron also earned a varsity letter in soccer.

SJNA Commandant, Major Vosnos stated, “MG Lima and I were very pleased to have had such a strong group of candidates step forward this year. All of them came prepared with solid visions for the Corps and great recommendations for the year ahead. However, 1CPT Patron set himself apart with his level of maturity, discernment, discipline, and consistent embrace of leadership challenges and opportunities throughout his time at SJNA. His focus on integrity within the ranks will serve as an essential guide throughout his time as 1st CPT. I have the utmost confidence in his ability to lead the 139th Corps of Cadets to great success.”
