Varsity Soccer Hauls in a Slew of Postseason Awards

DELAFIELD, Wis. – After a flagship 2023 season, the SJNA/Chesterton Lancers raked in the conference awards from the Midwest Classic Conference (MCC).

After finishing 12-4-1 on the year, the MCC Champions and Regional Champions can add five All-Conference players, the Defensive Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year to the trophy cabinet.

Alex Aguilar was named conference Defensive Player of the Year and also earned First-Team All-Conference from the MCC.

His coach, Dave Burkle, was named the conference Coach of the Year for guiding the team to its second MCC title in a row and the regional championship.

Joining Aguilar on the First Team was Florentino Tellez and Victor Valenzuela as the trio was instrumental to the Lancers success all season long.

Rounding out the postseason awards was the duo of Hunter Hopwood and Inigo De La Mata who earned spots on the Second Team for the MCC.

For the Lancers, the slew of postseason awards wraps up a memorable season which took the squad all the way to the sectional final and its eighth MCC conference title.
